Q. It seems everywhere I look for window tint software, I keep seeing programs that offer 11,000, 12,000 sometimes over 13,000 templates. Are all templates created equal?
A. Our Tint Tek 20/20 system offers 50,000+ templates, that’s tint, paint protection and windshields! But here’s what we’re most proud of - every single template in the Tint Tek 20/20 inventory was designed in house. We didn’t copy it from someone else. We didn’t ask someone to create new templates for us. It’s done using the same quality standards we went by when we first started out 14 years ago. That way, we prevent a lot of unnecessary customer issues for our Tint Tek 20/20 user team. The style is consistent. So is the fit. All the guesswork that often comes from working with unfamiliar templates is eliminated so you don’t waste time. When there’s an update, it’s coming from the source so you know it’s coming from a source who knows the templates inside out. Built upon a long-standing foundation of family pride and tradition, we want our Tint Tek 20/20 users to enjoy the same consistent value they expect just like when they visit their favourite family restaurant.
Q: Do I need special training to use the Tint Tek 20/20 system ?
A: Tint Tek 20/20 software has a very simple user interface and makes applying window film fast and easy. Anyone who can use a computer and a vinyl cutter can use Tint Tek 20/20 software.
Q: Can I use the software with any brand of vinyl cutter?
A: Tint Tek 20/20 does not require drivers for current Q Series plotters & current Graphtec models. Additional drivers from the manufacturer may be required for other plotters.
Q: Can I use the software with my 24” or 30” vinyl cutter?
A: Yes. Tint Tek 20/20 supports rotating the templates so that vinyl cutters smaller than 42” can be used. For maximum versatility, the optimal plotter width will still be 42” or more so that templates for rear windows can be cut in one piece.
Q: Can I use Tint Tek 20/20 with any window tint film or do I have to buy a particular brand?
A: Tint Tek 20/20 can be used with any brand of window tint.
Q: Do I have to download the templates every time I use the software?
A: Tint Tek 20/20 does not require downloading each template from the internet. The templates are already in the software and can be accessed without connecting to the internet. Tint Tek Cloud requires constant internet access to run, and will always have the most recent templates.
Q: What kind of blades should I use?
A: Since window film is very thin, the lower the degree angle of the blade, the better. Most vinyl cutters are shipped with a 45 degree blades, which can cut too deeply. For best results, use Tint Tek 20/20’s specially designed window film blade. This blade is designed specifically for most window film cutting plotters on the market today.
Q: Can I save the templates to my hard drive for future use?
A: Yes and No. When using Tint Tek 20/20, the templates are downloaded to the computer’s hard drive. With Tint Tek 20/20 Cloud, the templates are stored in Tint Tek 20/20’s server and are not downloaded to the user’s PC. You can however save any files, ours or your creations, but they will only open in a current Tint Tek 20/20 software with an active license.
Q: Do I have to pay a monthly access fee?
A: There is an annual renewal fee of $1,395.00USD or $139.95USD/month. The $1,395.00USD price covers unlimited usage for the entire year with no additional fees. The monthly subscription has a one time startup fee of $295 which includes your first month, and $139.95/month thereafter. Choose the option that best fits your needs and budget.
Q: Do I have to pay the annual renewal fee?
A: If you purchase Tint Tek 20/20, there is a renewal fee due after the first 12 months of use. At the end of this time period, the software will not be usable until the license is renewed. Renewal can be done annually or monthly.
Q: How do I get updates for new vehicles?
A: First ensure you have an internet connection. Then open Tint Tek 20/20 software, if updates are available, a pop-up will prompt you to add new templates to your database. Updates are available continuously and appear in a scrolling window with the date they were added.
Q: What are the system requirements for running Tint Tek 20/20?
A: Tint Tek 20/20 is compatible with Windows 10 & Windows 11. It requires 4GB of hard drive space. Tint Tek 20/20 requires constant high speed internet connection.
Q: Is it Mac compatible?
A: Unfortunately, there is not a Mac version of Tint Tek 20/20 available, but it can be run on a Macintosh computer using a Windows simulator.
